Jackie Luzy, 37, Entrepreneur, Project Manager, Festival Director and certified Mindfulness Instructor.
Born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark to a Filipina mom, she often travelled back to the Philippines to connect with her roots. In her 20’s she lived for 5 years in Manila, interning for Amnesty International during her bachelor and later for Institute for Social Entrepreneurship of Asia (ISEA) during her Masters of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Copenhagen Business School (CBS). She wrote her masters about Agricultural Social entrepreneurship in the Philippines and in this connection she started her first business, Roots Food importing Philippine Moringa til Denmark and P-Noise Festival; a cross cultural festival with contemporary art, dance and indie films and music that’s been held in Copenhagen, Paris and Manila. She’s been a speaker for Asia days, CBS Entrepreneurship Day, facilitator and mentor for a number of events.
As an entrepreneur, she experienced the pressure of running a startup. The turning point was when she was 8 months pregnant, Roots Food was failing and she was close to a burn-out. She gave birth to her son and promised that while chasing her dreams she would at least be happy and sent good calm vibes to her newborn. With an ever interest in spirituality and law of attraction, she started meditating. This evolved into a deeper self development journey and today she is a Mindset & Mindfulness Instructor.
Her startup Roots Food started with being mainly focussed on importing Philippine Organic Moringa (malungay), but she ended up going bankrupt and then today she re-startet it as Roots Food Nordic with a deeper purpose of creating food products that are focussed on Mindful Energy and Mindful moments, which includes all kinds of superfood ingredients in teas and snackbars.
For the love for entrepreneurship and female empowerment, she is also a partner in Colly& Co. A Copenhagen based collagen food brand, with an all female team.
To tie it all up, she recently founded Mind Power by Jackie Luzy, where she uses a combination of her experiences as an entrepreneur and mindfulness teaching to provide tools for more focus, better performance and conscious leadership.
